I noticed he said that the shots "didn't stay down". Maybe it's nit-picking, but don't shots have to BE down in order to STAY down. He
is totally in denial.

If Pierce's injury didn't happen, tonight's game is a must win for the Lakers in my book. With a healthy Celtic team, no one, and I mean no one
beats them 4 out of 5.
If PP's injury didn't happen. |

I'll be curious to see if the Celtics learned anything from the Detroit series. They didn't come out with any hunger in game 2 and Pistons handed them
their only home loss this postseason.
The Lakers will be eager to jump out to an early lead. Hopefully the guys in white will not let that happen. |

I was at the Harpoon brewery yesterday. On the way back after they did final call a bunch of drunk guys (myself included) started a random "Beat LA"
chant on the T- I can't even lie, it was soo cool I was a little bit touched.

Does anyone know if the bar 'The Purple Shamrock' is still around? Dragged a couple of locals out of there haha. Can't remember the name of that
big seafood restaurant around the corner from the Fleetcenter.

Well, duh. That's because he was faking it the whole time.

lol, yak! Good timing. For the most part, I like what I've seen in the 1st half. Powe came up big with tough moves inside. 9 free throw attempts. Good stuff. Pierce is playing great, Posey with some key defensive plays in that early 2nd quarter. I have the rare honor to watch this game with my wife. Last time we didn't this, Larry Bird was active, not kidding. She likes Powe (surferwife:
"ohh, handsome!") and Rondo (surferwife: "love that little guy, and he's cute too"). Maybe she's forgotten who is sitting next to
her. |

I like what I see too. Just tighten up on the defensive boards and keep doing what they're doing. If I had a quibble it would be that it does still seem
that KG is turning down good shots and taking others a foot or two out of his range.
Let's come out hard in the 3rd and bury these guys.

Up 22 at the end of three. Keep the pressure on boys. Stay aggressive. No mercy!
Have I mentioned that I love Rondo? What was that move at the end of the third? I gotta see that one again. And how bout Leon Powe? LOVED the way our guys responded when the Lakers cut it to 9.

Just about there guys! What a game by Leon....not too surprised though, as he is a scorer. I think LA has played fairly well too, especially Gasol. Love
Paul coming out early and scoring - set the tone...

That....was....scary. Wish they would have held tough and won by double digits, as it would have put some doubts in the minds of the Lakers. But I'll
take it....2-0!

2-0 though. |

celtics thought the game was over way before it was, but still the win is nice.
hopefully blowing the lead will help motivate them for game 3... because, honestly, this team seems like they need to be challenged in order to really lock down. they felt like they weren't really being challenged (which they weren't) in the 3rd and start of the 4th and they just relaxed. the downside is that they may have boosted the lakers confidence... but either way, a 2-0 lead in the finals is nothing to complain about. |

Things went downhill when Powe came out of the game. He has a distinct strength advantage over anybody the Lakers can throw at him. KG, on the other hand, had
a rather poor game, frankly. He missed jumpers he usually makes and he doesn't take it strong to the rim the way Powe does. IMO, Doc should have had Powe
in the game instead of Posey at the end and this game would not have been a nail-biter. This is yet another example of Doc not responding properly with his
rotations by basing it on what is actually happening in that particular game. It's been an issue all season long.
That said, it's great to be 2-0. This game also afforded me a little marriage therapy for me as the wife hung in there until the very end. |

Great game, but they got real sloppy and careless at the end. Really glad we are up 2-0 going on the road. We have to win at least one in LA though. The way
Powe was playing when he first came in, I thought he might single-handedly foul out the entire Laker team.

Pierce was a man but Powe was the difference. Without Powe we don't win this game because KG provided very little offensive presence in the paint.
We've all known about Powe all year but this showing just might be a revelation going forward to LA. He was flat out abusing the Lakers inside and Doc
better damn get him more PT come game 3.
Judas Priest does that David Thorpe get on my f'ckin nerves! I'm sick of the apologies for Lakers losing and picking against Boston every damn game in the playoffs no matter what. The comment earlier in the year about Rondo not worthy of being a starter for a playoff team just sticks in my craw because he still won't give this kid any freakin credit no matter. What makes it worse is the fact Thorpe admitted he rooted for the Lakers growing up. His last comment in the espn live blog was 'at least the Lakers have more confidence on Tuesday'. Oh really. Because of the fact that they got totally dominated for all but 6 or 7min of the game when we let up. Please. Here's Thorpe taking another shot at Rondo during the game. At least that's how I saw it... DAVID THORPE: If Rondo was an unknown player, playing for a summer league team in an NBA summer league, he'd be lightly considered as an NBA prospect. Ditto Powe and Perkins. |

I'm sorry Jug this David Thorpe has very little credibility IMHO.
