Sox middle relief of Hansen and Delcarmen FN BLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope they can turn it around because it would be awesome to have to kids that will be in the bullpen for the next 10 years instead of the usually yearly rotation of fk head relievers that catch pitch out of a paper bag.

We may be getting some help as Colon looks close to being ready to join the rotation, freeing someone to move to the bullpen. Buchholtz seems to be the one people are talking about, but I wonder how moving him into that role helps him build up his arm and shoulder to the point where the team doesn't feel they have to limit his innings in the future. What the hell happened to Delcarmen - who was so good last year? I'm actually happy for the Rays. It's good for baseball. They're a little like the '67 Sox. Hey tT, how them Yanks doin'? Varitek is great. Lester, yeah what a kid, what a story. I get the feeling the Sox bats have not caught fire yet. I just love Jacoby Ellsbury. Anyone want to trade Ellsbury and Lester for Johan Santana? lol

About a dozen catchers had caught three. As for the Santana trade SD, the only reason that didn't happen was because of the contract extension he was demanding. I thought Lester and Ellsbury's value had peaked after the WS. I guess I was wrong about Lester. I hope the fact he threw a career high 130 pitches doesn't affect him in his next few starts. I'm bummed I missed the game. I had a class that was starting last night, so I was only able to catch the last inning or so on the radio.

No wonder he was wearing the ice bandage on his left arm and shoulder during the clubhouse interview . . . The whole team looks wonderful when something like this happens, from the owners to the Tito, to his team-mates. Great early season story for the Red Sox.

Lester, Buccholz, Nomo, and Derek Lowe. You can tell Lester is getting sick of all the cancer questions. He just wants to be a ball player and let his talent speak for itself. You can almost see him cringe when he hears "After the year you had...." or "With the sickness behind you" ect....

It will pass though, Mike Lowell is a cancer survivor also and he doesn't deal with the questions. I'ts just a matter of time for Lester. Also, I almost completely forgot that V-Tek could very potentially have caught 6 no-hitters. Pedro had a no-no into the 9th once, and just this past summer Schilling had 8 2/3 of no-hit ball against Oakland.

Schilling wanted to be a man and throw the fast ball. And that game basically killed his regular season as he went on the DL shortly after and didn't come back until Sept.

They're gonna immobilize the wrist for a month and see what happens. If it looks like Papi is done for the year when July rolls around, maybe they go and get a bat. If they go that route I'd love to see them get Griffey - for the right price. They won't go after Bonds under any circumstances. IT'S ALL OVER. IT'S ALL OVER. Sox have no need to make a trade since they still have decent prospects to bring up like Lowry. They could go with an additional pitcher like Masterson or Buchholtz. Plus Youkilis can play virtually any position so Casey could become the regular 1st baseman.

He's the prototypical Moneyball hitter, and if he'll come here for a one year deal, there's almost no reason not to do it. Even if Bonds is worried about what happens when/if Papi comes back in a month, he'll have time to prove himself to the other 29 teams and maybe the Sox work a deal out and get a couple minor leaguers. True, he's a surly dude, but the Sox clubhouse could endure him for a few months.

It wouldn't take much to get him because Cinci is starting to officially phase in their new guy Jay Bruce. Plus, Griffey would probably LOVE to come to Boston for a chance to get a ring...and what baseball purist wouldn't like to see Jr. Griffey get a ring?
