Nuff' said....C's already don't have a chance according to ESPN. That means we are going to rollllllllllllllllllllllllllll.

Wow I guess we have no chance. The Lakers are that good. Surprised to see Hollinger finally turn on us. Thorpe has been consistently picking against us since the playoffs began. I guess he'll still maintain to his deathbed that Rondo brings us down. Hey Brossaurd gives us big props for lasting at least 7 games. Amazing. |

wow. are those predictions real? Are they kidding me?
Ummm....I love it. Nothing better than have the best team be picked against by all the experts. This championship will be so sweeeeeet.! Seriously, it reminds me a bit of the Russell teams in the 60s. It seemed to me that everyone wanted them to get beat because they were so darn good. Though it isn't the same, there is an aspect of disbelief about this team from the experts and other teams all year long. So much the better the victory celebration when we prove them wrong....finally and for all time. If any team has the goods to stop Bryant, the Celtics do. Too bad Tony Allen won't get his shot at it, as well. I expect we will be seeing Posey in foul trouble often this series. It is inner defense that makes the difference anyway. That should reduce Kobe to jump shooting. With Perkins playing well and the emergence of PJ Brown, we have a solid inner line of defense to go with KGs ever present self. |

Fine by me. People also said we would not win a series winning on the road. I think we just took 2 from Detroit on their home court to wrap up the East.
Bring it home baby, make it soon! |

I love it too. It reminds me of a different year, 1984, when the Celtics had by far the league's best record, but the Lakers ran past everyone in the
Western Conference playoffs, leading the pundits to give the Celtics little chance in the Finals.
What I think people are missing is just how good the Celtics are defensively. Maybe they're figuring that the Spurs are defensive studs and the Lakers handled them, but the Spurs are old, and Ginobili wasn't healthy. The Celtics are healthy - except for Tony, who wasn't in the rotation anyway. I can't imagine Kobe scoring as easily as he has been. No one is going to stop him, but I think the Celtics will do a better job of making him work for his points than anyone has so far. The Celtics are by far the more battle-tested team. If this series goes long, remember that Gasol has never, not once, won an elimination game.
IT'S ALL OVER. IT'S ALL OVER. And the Boston Celtics are World Champions for the SEVENTEENTH TIME.

I expected as much. It took the Celtics 20 games to get through a (in most people's eyes) and inferior eastern conference, while LA rolled through without
hitting a 7th game (I think they played 15 total).
All the more reason to beat LA! |

I guess the Laker could win . . . NOT! |

Mark my words...regardless of what we do in LA, LA is NOT beating us at home...absolutly no way.
Im so confident of it. We just beat the 2nd best team in the league twice in their own gym and we are the best team in the league...this west-coast d'lickin is hideous. Kobe Cryant can come to the garden and get his 25, but that doesn't mean they are beatin us. I'm working on a spreadsheet for you all that I will share soon...has some pretty telling things on it. I can't believe Broussard picked against us...not only did he pick against us, which I don't think he's done all postseason- but he thinks we're losing Game 7 at HOME? HUH? LA hasn't played a game 7 yet, and we've already won 2- we have the experience in that kind of situation of them and after watching last night we clearly have more hunger. PREDICTION: After we win Game's 1 + 2- Bill Simmons jumps back on the bandwagon |

The only thing can stop us is the refs. Kobe ball will have to learn to play in molasses, if the refs let us play.
He hasn't seen a defense like the Celtics, San Antonio notwithstanding. Mike, no doubt the tough games the Celtics just experienced have made them a far better team. It is kind of the opposite of the way it looks from the outside - as some of you have said. Man, I needed this for an end of year revival. I am really happy it is LA. Three trumps one. |

I remember a few years ago the Lakers signed Karl Malone and Gary Payton and the media conceded the championship to them even before the exhibition season
began. Unfortunately, they had to actually play games and they couldn't get past our friends from Detroit. I am never too impressed with the opinions of
so called experts. They are often wrong. Furthermore, the more unanimous they are, the more likely they are to be wrong.

Late breaking news - ESPN now has Tim Legler going with the Celtics in 7. . . . but also added Jalen Rose who went with LA in 7. So that is 9 numbskulls for
the Lakers versus one very bright analyst who is picking the Celtics at ESPN
To add further lack of credibility, remember ESPNs DET-BOS predictions: 5 for Pistons in 6 1 for Celtics in 6 3 for Celtics in 7 The Celtics were the underdogs in the Pistons series - interesting |

Good stuff Bob. I've always respected Legler's views. He was also one who picked Celtics in 7 for DET-BOS. Looks like Marc Stein was the only accurate
one for that series (C's in 6)

I agree about "experts" WBH. And not just about sports, right?
I've been impressed with Legler too. But all we really need to know is what Steven A Smith predicted and know that the opposite is almost certainly true.

Good one WBH.
I just can't believe that no one who is supposed to know, can see what is happening with this Celtic team. I could be wrong, but I see a team that is learning from each challenge and getting better at handling setbacks and pressure as they go. That Piston's 4th quarter was a moment of truth. Like the Grinch, the Cs hearts grew two sizes that night. Except the grinch was the refs and they couldn't steal a win away from the Cs no matter how they tried. Ya doo door rey, ya doo door rey! |

i think the lakers will be in for a surprise. they haven't seen defense like the celtics can play for months. on the flip side, the celtics haven't
played as defensively deficient a team as l.a. since april 14th when their scrubs beat the knicks. you'd have to go back even further than that to a time
when the 'big 3' played as poor a defensive team as the lakers.
in the playoffs, it's all about defense... l.a. looks so good because they haven't faced any yet. the spurs were the only good defensive team they faced, and they were too burned out from chasing chris paul around to play any defense... they are old. bruce bowen is a huge part of what they do on the defensive end and he's turning 37 in two weeks. the lakers rely on shooting a high percentage. the celtics are the best field goal defenders in the league in BOTH the regular season AND the playoffs. only defensive stalwarts, phoenix, dallas, denver and toronto have given up more points per game in the playoffs than the lakers. if the lakers end up winning the championship, they will not win it playing the way they have so far... they'll have get a little dirtier and nastier on both ends of the court. i don't know if they're ready or even capable of doing it. laker fans that want to look at the celtics playoff record so far should take a look at this: the lakers went 2-4 against atlanta, cleveland and detroit in the regular season. they lost to atlanta in ATL and lost at home and away to cleveland. |

Yes in fact MVBob Legs and Jalen got in on the late action and I have to say I agree with Legs although I'm not biased or anything. I'm sticking with my pre-playoff prediction of the C's over the Lakers in 6. |
