I don't want to give LA anymore hope then they have now. The really need to come out with more sense of urgency and squash any hopes they have. The last two games the Celtics seem to be taking the Muhammed Ali thing to the extreme by taking LA's best shot and then coming back. It's a dangerous game to play. No more rope and dope or whatever the heck it's called, please. I doubt if Perkins plays tomorrow so PJ will probably get the called first this time. Powe works best coming off the bench as the Lakers have no one to match up with him in their second unit. I thought Tony Allen played great and thought he deserved more minutes last night especially at crunch time. Pierce was looking a little tired at the end which helped contribute to the loss last night I thought. KG just needs to take some sleeping pills so he can get some rest. Maybe even some downers during the game because he's almost too hype at times. That second and third foul were just plain stupid and uncalled for. The Celtics are the better team and should close this out. Playing in front of their home fans should motivate the entire team to play their best.

If so i think he should start, put G on Gasol, and let posey have at odom. Otherwise I'm not sure, PJ and Leon do much better comming in after the starters have been out there for a while, and they are not playing against a fresh gasol or odom. They need some time against the LA bench. Van Gundy almost gave posey a tommy point last night when he dove for a loose ball out of bounds... If he knew what a tommy point was I think he would of given it to him. Tony Allen played pretty damn good in his short time out there. Two games, no big mistakes on his part, a sweet dunk a couple nice drives, some good, a nice Steal on the inbounds pass Paul wanted to win last night and get crown MVP, he had a damn good game, but we need other guys to go off too... I realy dont see garnet getting in that kind of foul trouble at the start of the game ALTHOUGH not having perkins really changes our team D and put's garnet on the spot a bit more at the start. I'm worried perk wont play game 6 if he didnt dress for 5, that shoulder has been is biggest problem... shoot em up and put him in!!!! I think Doc has told the PG"s to shoot less. It seemmed like Cassel passed up a couple shots he usually loves to take, even my wife though so. But once he makes a hoop or two, here comes the heat check! Rondo needs to shoot a bit, or just drive at kobe and try to get a foul. Who cares if he gets called for a charger or two, he's only playin 15 minutes anyways PG by committee to finish the season C by committee to finish the season how wonderful!

It's almost the kiss of death. Before it was Kobe was the best closer and LA is too quick and their bench too good. Now it's the Celtics defense is the best and no one can guard Pierce rhetoric. I wanted them to stop because they are jinxing the Celtics at this point. I think they are just covering their asses so they can say they knew the Celtics were the best team all along.

That being said, this team plays like it has ADD! I wish for once they can give us 4 quarters of good basketball. I can't think of a solid 1st quarter by them all series. Maybe they are confusing the 1st quarter with pre-game warm-ups. IMO it is frustrating, but also shows how good we are that we can play below average and still be up 3-2 in the NBA finals.

On the face of it you would think the answer is no. Odom is bigger and quicker than Posey but also can hit an outside shot occasionally. He's a tough guard by any standard. However, Posey can frustrate him as evidenced by the tussle they got into towards the end of last night's game, and that's just as good given Odom's obvious lack of mental abilities. Odom really doesn't like the physical game and also seems insulted by anyone like Posey who dares to get up into his craw. Odom's brain turns to mush as he self-destructs. It's really quite hilarious to watch. I frankly don't see why he get all these allocades. After this series is over, I want to write a piece that reviews every one of these jerk-face Fakers. I just can't figure it out...The close out game is the game of their freakin life and they come out looking like they're playing some kind of scrimmage game. I'm sick of it! What is with these guys and these slow starts? We can't we put together 48min? Pierce is the only one that played like a man out there and that's not going to be enough. I'm now very concerned about the Perk effect. Puts more pressure on KG. Gotta start PJ and hope for the best. Rondo is really scarin me. I don't know if the ankle gives him pause or what but he has looked lost the last two games. I guess Cassell threw up some buckets last night but really I don't care to see him the rest of the series. Tony was refreshing to see in the first half but I don't know how he fared overall. We might need to see more of him on Kobe to avoid Pierce burning out from exhaustion with his efforts. If Powe disappears again I wouldn't mind seeing Baby out there for defensive purposes. He might be able give Gasol some fits by getting physical with him. We did not put a body on Gasol at all in the first half. They had too many second chance opportunities. BTW I'm going to throw up if the Lakers win the next game.

The Lakers didn't even attempt to alter his shot! They had conceeded two points and he settled for a 3 attempt that missed...

I mean a monster win. This is it, all the marbles are on the line and home court and wild cheering fans to boot. The Lakers don't have the stones, they will crumble. Role players like Leon Powe, James Posey and Eddie House are going to step up, mark my words. Paul Pierce will have the game of his life, KG will bounce back big time. And again, the Lakers are going to wilt (no pun intended) and just pack it in. This is going to be the greatest game of the season, folks. Watch and enjoy !!

Yeee-aaaaaa. My opinion on Rondo has been changing downward for a while now. I'm not quite as up on him as everyone else seems to be. And I know that's not a popular thing to say on the Celtic message boards. Rondo gets mucho love everywhere. I see plenty of faults in Rondo's game and mindset. But I keep this in mind...... He is only 22 with 2 years as a pro. If he were on another team where he would be allowed to play to his strengths more, his game and confidence level would be farther along. Regarding his play of late.... He is definitely playing hurt. No doubt about it. But even before he was hurt - he was often making bad decisions. His drives are often finished poorly and without outlets. He makes me shake my head when he does that. His strength was supposed to be his drives and he wasn't finishing well at the rim either. We all know how erratic his jump shot is. The interior defenses are simply better in the last few rounds. There aren't open lanes to the hoop that he was experiencing for most of the year and in the first few rounds of the play-offs. So, I think's a combination of being hurt and better defenses that are neutralizing Rondo. By the same token of how much love Rondo gets, I think everyone gives Sam Cassell zero love and understanding, though Rondo often makes dumb mistakes himself. I understand the frustration with Sam. I like him, but I feel the frustration myself. But the same goes for Rondo. He is still rebounding like a forward, though. When your point guard's best attribute is his offensive rebounding, which I love and definitely appreciate, there is a problem. He has lost some of his mojo on defense as well. He used to be good for a couple of great defensive plays a game. Haven't seen that in a while. The problem is that none of our three guards are without their faults. Feel free to take me to task, but that is how I feel.

Think of how this team is close to closing things out anyway. The play of the big three is huge and each of the other players all have had their moments in the sun. I'm looking for KG to have a much better game. Even if it just to get in the middle and get pass for the open. shot. PJ needs to play well, too. Maybe Rondo can get the break going for some easy baskets, too. I'd like to see Posey step up offensively, too.

Rondo is indeed hurt AND interior defenses are better at this level AND he is a 2nd year PG who has never played at this level. So we agree, but to be "down on him" (paraphrasing) seems a bit harsh, frankly. He is not perfect, but the team always looks better offensively when he is on the court. That's how I see it. Why is it a problem if his best attribute is offensive rebounding? (Which I'm not sure is true, but I'll go along for sake of argument.) I just don't understand the logic. An offensive rebound is a 2nd chance to score on a possession. That can make up for any and ALL problems encountered in the 1st chance. It doesn't matter who gets that offensive rebound and it's not like it's taking away from the rest of his game. As far as his defense, I've reached the conclusion this season that Rondo is not as good a defender as he was cracked up to be. It's not his fault, it's just that he's not big enough (height or bulk) to stay with the bigger PGs (Baron Davis, Jason Kidd, Deron Williams) in the league. He gets a lot of steals because he has long arms, huge hands and is more of a "gambling" defender in the mold of Brevin Knight or Chris Paul. If the gamble fails, the player blows by him. Save Pierce's fouls on Kobe for the fourth and stick Tony on Kobe when the second unit comes in. Give Ray a breather from guarding Kobe for an entire half and let him have some energy to end the game with. I really hope KG rises to the moment in this game 6 and not get over hyped. This is his chance to win a ring and he's got to keep his emotions in check. Hopefully he goes down low early to get some easy baskets because his outside shooting is suspect in these last few games. Bring this baby home guys.

You can't make KG into something he is not. He needs to hit his outside shot, period. He knows it and so does everyone else. If he does, THEN angles to the basket may become available.
