To me, it was even more proof of why Kobe did not deserve the MVP. I've also always considered Schilling a blow hard and ironically that was the first blog
post I had ever read of his...

Well, this is why he will forever be stuck with players who are not good enough to win because they won't play with him. Maybe it is why they have some
many foreigners on the team.
It is funny to read a pro-athlete writes something as if he was a normal dude like us. He is a hall of fame pitcher with more insight into how pro athletes mingle and go about their routines then we would. I just want to sit on the floor to hear Garnett swear the whole game so I won't get in trouble when I do it. |

Great stuff from Schill, Jug. He basically confirms what an a-hole Kobe is. Somebody asked Kobe recently how different things are for him from a year ago
when he was demanding to be traded. He said something like "totally different" with the implication that the team had made the moves to surround
him with good players. Thing is, he is wrong. Nothing has changed for Kobe. He is still a primadonna jerk who insists on being "the man".
I did enjoy most of what Schill wrote except I was confused by this quote: Lamar Odom (who I became a fan of last night)What? Did I miss something? What's to like about this guy? I guess Schill is not aware of the "takedown" Odom did on Ray Allen during a regular season game. Beyond that, Odom is a soft, overrated knucklehead. |

Great read by Schilling. Thanks Jug!
SD, JMost and all...you are so right. I've never liked Bryant and a lot of people over the years have thrown Kobe up as someone they would rather have than Pierce. I'll take Paul Pierce any day and twice on Sunday over Kobe Bryant. And that was before any of this Finals stuff. I found it interesting to hear Curt's take on the difference between how the two teams interact with each other. Very interesting. BTW..speaking of Pierce....he not only didn't have his obligatory late game dumb turnover...he caused one with the deflection of Radman's shot! It was fun to have an O'Doul's with Zeke before the game. Yes, Surferdad, it was an O'Douls. I'm a wimp when I'm doing meds. Tough toenails! Zeke, did you post on Celticsblog under an assumed name? It sounded a bit like you. I'm with Radja. The Lakers will get all of the calls in game 3. It won't even be funny. What would be funny is if the Celtics win anyway. That would make LA the biggest Finals frauds since...last year when the Cavs were. |

A bit contrary to my own thinking, Eddie Johnson (Hoopshype article) has stated that Rivers will have the Cs ready to play this game tonight as if it were game
7, because he knows that a win tonight virtually locks up the championship.
Wow..if it is only so. |

The Celtics are 4-0 against the Fakers this year - can someone tell me how the Lakers were picked as overwhelming favorites in this series?

Anybody else not buying Jackson's classless little disprespect of Leon after game 2?
Phil Jackson, If you're as good a coach as you think you are, you KNOW who LEON POWE is! He just put a wreck on your ball club... Don't tell me you prepared your team for the NBA finals without knowing every player's name on the other side of the court. Just disprespectful and Lame imo Also...I don't think Jackson is as great of a coach as anyone would have u believe. It's ain't THAT hard to win a ring when you have Michael Jordan with Scottie Pippen and then Kobe Bryant with Shaq in his prime IMO. |

I never liked Kobe Bryant, but the thing that has fueled my strong opinion is the constant PR barrage the league keeps cramming down our throat. Look, Kobe is
a creep, we all know this, please stop trying to sell us on something different. In the postgame press conferences you can just see Kobe fighting off his inner
dickweed, struggling mightily not to be a total dueshebag (is that our agreed upon misspelling?) It's comical to watch really. Anyone with any kind of
intuition can pick up on it. It's so perfect that he is the leader of the Fakers. Anyway, I bring this up because at the game the other night they had The
2008 Finals Commemorative Program out on the media table for us to take home.
One of the articles in the magazine is dedicated to KG and another is dedicated to Kobe. The one for Kobe is titled, "Family Guy - whether it's relating to his wife and two daughters or the fellowship in the Lakers locker room, Kobe Bryant has embraced the family concept" Are You Effing Kidding Me?!!?!?!?!? HOGWASH! That is the biggest load of diaper bombs I have ever seen. Was that Kobe embracing the dysfunctional family concept during game 2 then? Blaming his teammates, calling them out, berating them before halftime, instilling them with confidence? He is such a sociopath it's ridiculous, but what's worse is the way the league continues to cram this propaganda down our throats - I mean, the title and lead in on this article makes it so blatantly obvious. Maybe if they tell us it's that way enough times then we will eventually come to believe it. I can't stand this turdsandwich they keep putting on my plate... |

"Zeke, did you post on Celticsblog under an assumed name? It sounded a bit like you. "
No, that wasn't me. What post are you referring to? I'd like to read it. Also, Zeke *is* an assumed name |

Ha! Ha!
You mean that your name isn't really ZekeMowattfan? Now I'm confused. (be quiet Yak) There was a poster who talked about going to the game alone, but had a great time anyway, because everyone around him was in such a great mood (or something like that). They all celebrated together, etc. I've posted under other names awhile ago. '32fan' and 'WalterMcCarty' being my most recent. Yeah, I admit it. |

I might sign in as 32fan here and begin posting because I feel his absence during all of this. While I would have been wise to the deception, you all would at
least have had the pleasure

Yeah he does Bob - I thought for sure he would join us for the finals. I miss him...
Causeway, happy to amuse - it's been a while since I let me feelings fly and long overdue. I really do hate Kobe and many here know exactly how badly so from our group outing on January 31st 2007, a day that lives in infamy!!! |

Watch this Bill Plashke video. He actually says there wasn't a foul disparity. The Lakers were soft, and Boston earned those fouls. He said a lot more that I agree with. surprising but check it out. He thinks the Lakers may be toast. I...LOVE >>>IT! |

So many people I heard on the radio today seem to be conceding Game 3 to the Lakers figuring that between LA's desperation and the refs, we have no chance.
I disagree. I think it's all about how the Celtics play, not how LA plays or what the refs
do. If Boston plays the way it can, LA isn't going to win unless they are ridiculously hot from outside.
I also don't agree that just because the fouls were 28-21 in Boston's favor last game that it necessarily will be reversed this time. Not if the C's are still the ones taking it to the hoop. I think people give too much credence to the refs favoring the home team and fail to recognize that it's more likely that teams play more aggressively at home and THAT is the main reason the home team gets more calls. I'm sure the refs get caught up in things and sometimes it influences them, but I don't think it's quite as bad as some seem to think. 97-91 Celtics.

Which Celtics team do we see? The one that took it to a soft team in the Lakers or the team that let their defensive guard down on the road on most occasions?
We're 2 games from banner 17 with the Lakers on their heels and I would be very disappointed (more like on PO'd) if they don't come out and play
like their hairs on fire! If we can come out and stem the emotions of opening tip and keep it close for the first half then I really like our chances.
They're going to get the calls but we can't lose our composure like we've done in the past. We have to do a better job of rebounding then we did in
game 2. I WANT THE SWEEP DAMNIT!
This just in...Stephen A said Kobe will drop 40 plus on us. |

I'll have to watch that later. I think Plaschke is one of the worst journalists ever. He has his own tag on firejoemorgan.com, albeit mostly for his
baseball stuff.
Who else is online tonight? I don't think we have the chatroom feature anymore like we did on the old site, but I'll try to keep checking back here as the game goes on. Good opening possession for the C's! |
