I can get one more player, someone from another site if we want to try to make 10 teams. But that would mean we need one more for ten. My guy would make 9.

So why are we starting from scratch again? Besides losing some owners. Why can't we just settle for more guys added to the pool?

We need to decide soon on the format since if it is still a keeper league we have to submit our two keepers from last season before next Sunday.

If we're going to try a keeper league again I just want something stable. I really don't care all that much if we build on last year's keeper
league (we might as well award the title to MVJ
I'd rather keep it to the guys on this board tT. It's hard enough to round people up here. Same format and categories as last year? I say yes, just to keep it simple. Given the larger rosters, it does make sense to adjust the number of players active each day as MVBob suggested. |

OK, JMost. I'm ready for whatever is decided.
Is our draft this Sunday? What time? Do we get to review the stats being counted and the weight to each? Are we on the same system (yahoo?) as last year? |

Don't you hate it when old people repeat themselves?

The draft is on the 27th, next Sunday and I was thinking about keeping the scoring the same. I went with the default settings that we had in place. Also, I
think we should restart the fantasy league over and go keeper league from here, with two keepers each season from here on out - I can be swayed though. Right
now there are 8 starting positions and 6 bench players. I think that makes the most sense. PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, Util

I think Sunday is the 26th. I'm for doing as you say: keeping the settings, starting over, and keeping 2 from now on. 8 and 6 sounds good too.

It is the 26th..whoops
One thing I am going to check on is whether we can do keeper picks from year-to-year based on the round we drafted them int he year before. Value picks in the later rounds would then be worthy of keepers rather than everyone just keeping their two best players each year. It would add a little strategy... |

The league is rigged...Jughead is picking first!

Bastard....yeah, let's start over. Makes the draft much more exciting when all the players are available. I use to do keeper Football Fantasy, and the top
20 players were off the board to start and that sucked the life out of it. Plus, players get old and hurt, so a refresh isn't a bad thing.

Oh, and keep the rosters small as that will leave more free agents to pick from. It will create more activity.

Wow, i feel like i'm totally getting fleeced for drafting well for the keeper format last year. Break up The Perfect Storm! I was gonna say I'm not interested in this if we don't go keeper from last year, but I don't want to be the a-hole that ruins it for everyone so whatever. What did we have last year? Rosters that totaled 196 players selected or 224 players? I'm for putting more emphasis on drafting well than adding more players to the pool. FWIW 8 starters and 6 backups seems like it promotes waay to much waiver wire activity. It would suck if someone stole a title because they were the waiver wire wizard. I like the idea of at least 8 (prefer 10 but oh well) bench players for a total of 128 players selected. There will still be enough quality players to choose from on the wire in this scenario. I'm just thinking if we go with a starting unit of 8 then it's going to be a pain managing a full squad on many nights with just 6 bench players. I don't want to be dropping quality players for the sake of getting a full squad in nor do want to give someone with a bad record a shot of picking them up. There will be nights also when we'll have to decide to just leave a starting spot empty for the sake of not dropping someone you want to keep just for the purpose of filling a starting spot. Meh, the more I think about it with only 8 teams, we could go 10 bench players easy and still have a lot on the wire to work with but hey that's just my two cents about it. |

To be honest, I'd be fine with Jughead deciding whatever he thought worked best since he's the one setting it up. Let's just get it nailed down in
the next few days so everyone knows how many players deep they have to go in their preparation for the draft.
I do want to ask one question though, and that is: if so many people find the draft the most fun part of the whole fantasy deal, why even bother with a keeper league? Why not just start over every year? |

I'm all for that because quite honestly, I don't know how much longer I can keep doing this.
I'm really swamped at work these days and you'll probably notice it this year as I won't be near as activate on the waiver wire as I have been in the past. Plus with career ending injuries and trades, top player values flucuate. No offense to MVJ but if Howard or CP3 had season ending injuries during preseason, I'm willing to bet he wouldn't want to have a keeper league this season. It's matter of perspective. |

I think the only reason I'm for throwing everyone back in is because we are losing so many teams - but it doesn't really amount to a hill of beans as
long as we have a reverse draft with MVJ picking at the end
Really, it's not that big of deal with 2 keepers. I have no problem trotting Jason Kidd and Jason Richardson as my keepers against Paul and Howard. As it is - MVJ will be punting on FT% due to Howard being Shaq-like, cancelling one of the 4 cats that Paul excels in. So - bring it on MVJ!!! But this should be contingent that the draft order has the best last. So Zeke would be last, and I can't remember who got 2nd, but they would go next to last. I don't even see where we have our players listed on yahoo fantasy from last year. I see the team from 2006-07 where Jughead defeated me, and 2005-06 where Wishs Vicious Fishes won over yak. But where the heck is our league from last year - Zeke is going to lose any notoriety if doesn't live on in posterity at yahoo.com? |

I say we have a draft every weekend. You keep the players for that week, and we re-do it again each Sunday....

I'm sure if I had two players on the downside of their prime i'd want to start from scratch too??? No matter, it's moot anyway. As long as starting over benefits everyone that's fine whatever. Like I said I'm not going to ruin things for everyone ok? |
