Rumor two: Ainge trying to get the No. 2 pick in the draft to get Rubio. Not sure who/how he does that but seems something may break.
Ainge may be afraid Rondo will want a max contract and doesn't think he is worth it.

Rumor one: had Rondo and R Allen going for Amare Stoudamire and Barbosa. But, you say "who plays pg now"...well, that leads to

Don't like either. First one don't like, second one don't know enough about college prospects.

So let me get this straight. We're going to give up one of 3 best young PGs in the league (CP and D-Will are the other 2) PLUS, the best shooter in the league (thus effectively breaking up the best starting five in the league), for a big we don't need (yes Amare is better than Perk, but still Perk meshes with KG better) a throw-in player who is AT BEST a rotation player, not a star, and an unproven college player. Yeah right. Sounds like total BS. I hate these rumors, especially this early in the off-season because they almost never turn out to be true. |

The Phoenix rumor makes no sense for us, that much is clear. Interesting to see us mentioned in asking about Memphis' pick. Probably means nothing at
all, as I don't see how we pony up the goods for this - if we gave up any of the starters, that's too much.
But somehow wonder if a sign and trade of BBD might net us something interesting. His value is high now, because of his playoff performance and fill-in for KG. Just wonder if Danny might be trying to move an over-valued asset for an under-valued one somehow... |

I think you may be on to something Kuberski. I am definitely opposed to the trade as proposed. I think Danny maybe playing games again to throw everybody
off. Another question about Stoudamire is: Where are they going to find enough minutes for Stoudamire, Garnett, and Perkins to say nothing of Powe when he
returns and Baby if he is still here. Exploring the possibilities of the Memphis pick, or otherwise moving up in the draft is worth consideration. If the
price is too high we just stay put.

It's been stated publicly by the C's: They are looking for veteran help. The window of opportunity for this era of KG/Ray/Paul is limited. Clearly
more young players is not the priority. Walker, Giddens and Pruitt is plenty at this point and even that group has not gotten much playing time.
I am intrigued about the possibility of Rasheed Wallace. Although he is far from a model citizen, I would expect his buddy Garnett would keep him in his place. |

Agree with the vet help idea - as the ex-Redskins coach George Allen used to say, "The future is now!".
I thought I heard Rasheed wanted a bunch of money, like 8-10M/year? If' that's true, not sure how we pony up. But I too like the idea, and think he would fit well with Perk and KG. What about McDice? Not the same length on defensive end, but good rebounder and mid-range shot. |

I'm all for McDyess over Wallace. He'd cost less, he's hungrier for a ring, and he fits the mold of the team better. Don't put too much stock
into these trade rumours. DA isn't an idiot. A Hall of Famer and a top 5 PG in the league in his 3rd year are not worth the possibility of drafting a
19-year-old Spanish pro in this Rubio kid. Also, if we traded Rondo AND Ray Allen in the same deal, anything less than D-Wade in return is unexceptable IMO.
I've stated in previous posts and I'll say it again; Ray takes care of himself better than most in this league, he's still one of the best shooters
in the league if not the best, and with more plays ran for him, we saw how much more effective he was this past season. Not only would trading him be a huge
mistake, but not RESIGNING him would be just as big.

Interesting but crap nonetheless. I wonder what Danny is really up to though. There are no LeBrons, Kobes, Carmelos in this draft so why on earth would we
trade for a number two pick? Why would Memphis give it up if there was? Would love to have Thabeet as insurance for Perk but he's not worth all we'd
have to do to get him. I think this draft is lackluster overall but wouldn't mind Danny trying to trade back into the first round to get a big to develop,
but it's still slim pickings. I'm sure Rubio has skills but the fact is he's frail and would be a liability defensively. He's just not going to
keep up with some of the better points in the game. From what i read he has only decent range on his shot. I really don't see how he's much different
than Sergio Rodriguez. Rubio would get killed venturing into the lane, I'd rather have Rudy Fernandez if we're talking about Spanish guards.

I think the most likely way for us to get into the first round is buying a pick from a financially strapped team. But I don't think it's a high
priority move.

I don't think it really makes any sense at all to trade up to get back into the first round. What we need on this team is vet role players and playing time
for Bill Walker. But since Doc refuses to play our young guys, drafting another pine-rider to a first-round guaranteed contract makes no sense. I'm gonna
just throw this out there: Starbury apparently has said he wants to come back to Boston. Would you take a Stephon Marbury who gets to train and practice with
the team for a whole season? I think I might.

Yes, I would give another shot to Steph for the vet min.
I think Bill Walker could do well playing with the vets on this team, much like Baby has benefitted. |

Another recent rumor that has been floating around is Ray and Rondo for Dwayne Wade. I would do that in a heartbeat, but it seems far fetched to me...
(Also, after reading comments in the Celtics17 Board discussion, it appears that we will stick around for a while. So I am going to get us ad free again) |

Gotta love these rumors. Why would Miami trade Wade? The ONLY reason would be that he's told them he won't resign with them. Other than that
it's absurd. Even this self-admitted Rondo lover would do that deal.

well, given the recent comments by wyc about being able to afford a max contract next year, i'm inclined to believe they are at least looking for deals for
ray and rondo and that they might be thinking about getting a guy up for a max extension in return.
stoudemire, chris paul and dwayne wade are max guys that have been rumored. if we see any continuation of smoke over the next 3-4 weeks, there could be fire not far behind. for what it's worth i was out with the wife at a pizza place this weekend and i started telling her about the dwayne wade rumor. she expressed her disgust (she calls him the band aid guy and pretty much only knows him otherwise from the commercials with charles barkley)... when suddenly "day after day" by badfinger started playing... omen? |

Wade? Ha! That Badfinger song will always be about Kevin Garnett in my book. I used to get the chills seeing that commercial, in fact, I still do.
