Actually, I know very little about many of this year's players. But in reading about them, this guy caught my eye. His bio says "J.R. Rider/Cory Maggette comps", but reading his summary, he sounds like a Trevor Ariza type to me. Anyone know more? Doesn't matter if we draft him or not because Doc won't play him especially come playoff time. It is really that simple. If there's one thing we've learned about Doc is he does not trust first year players. That's why I hope Danny passes on rookies this year and uses the roster spot for a vet.

This thread has a limited shelf life. Generally I start watching some college hoops in January and start really paying attention during March Madness. This year I did absolutely nothing so I don't know any of the top players (except Thabeet and only because it was thought he might come out in previous years). But again, it probably doesn't matter. I don't think C's even keep their 50th pick if they can package it for a vet or a future (higher) pick.

We all have limited shelf life, SD. - but no doubt - the draft's on Thursday, and we pick at number 5002. There is nothing good left that low in good drafts, let alone this one. Yak - Ariza didn't shoot well either until recently. I wasn't necessarily thinking about the Cs for Williams, just struck me as that kind of player. I do wonder who Ainge has in mind if he traded up, though. Though flawed, some of the players sound intriguing anyway. Does anyone here think Rubio is the real deal? Or do you feel he's going to disappoint?

Until this year he never made more than 5 three point shots in a season, and actually went two seasons without making a single one. So it's a learnable skill. I'm all for bringing in a veteran SF, but I'm not giving up on Bill Walker either. Beat LA! Beat LA!

Big time athleticism, strength, and plus great length make him a nightmare on the defensive end. Improved perimeter shot throughout his career and athletic slasher.

His no-look passing is phenomenal and it is that kind of glitz that has gotten him all that press, plus that bizarre buy-out clause he has that is many times more than what his contract is worth. For PG, I'll stick with Rondo eight days a week

Would love to have him that's if Rondo don't mind. Like I said I really love Young to be the next Ariza although he will be downgraded because of his age which is stupid. Young can catch and shoot and slash to the basket. Just don't ask him to create his own shot because of marginal handles. He will lock down most players in the league though.

Cleveland - Shaq Washington - Miller, Foye Atlanta - Crawford Orlando - Vince San Antonio - Jefferson Other trades will be made. Will the next big shoe drop in Beantown? I wonder if Ray Ray gets moved tonight? I think there's a better chance of that happening then Rondo getting traded but what do I know? I just got a feeling Danny will get that itch to get back in the first rd somewhere.

Elsewhere around the league, I'll almost guarantee that McGrady and Stoudemire are packin they're bags tonight. That'll probably make it tougher to to move Ray cause the teams willing to move many pieces for big contracts might already make their deals. Which leads me to believe if any starter is moved its gonna be Rajon.

I just don't have much of an opinion on these guys. Almost everything I know comes from reading the draft sites, player summaries, youtube highlights, media pundits, and message boards. I think I get a decent idea of each player, but it's not the same as watching them play. BTW...Terrence Williams went at #11 to the Nets. Maybe I'm a good reader. lol. All's quiet on the Celtic front. Minny and Sactown look interesting from their picks.

The pick is Lester Hudson with the distinction of being the 2nd highest scorer in NCAA to Curry. Found it funny that the two guys Vitale ranted about in the 2nd rd was Young and Blair. Even funnier Vitale called Young the next Ariza.

It would be fun to have him go against Rondo during daily practice - he'd challenge him more than Pruitt methinks . . .

Obviously Danny has a way of pulling out some nice gems in this round save for our Turkey boy Semi. Anyway that's why I was watching, and I gotta admit I thought he might try to get into the late first rd too. I don't really know too much about this kid, just vaguely remember that he put up some decent numbers on Ohio St. At 6-1 he supposedly got a 6-9 wingspan which is like really freakish - actually kind of reminded me of Dee Brown. Could be the poor mans Rodney Stuckey with all his scoring ability. At the very least we get a more athletic version of House. Pruitt had better take notice.
