In looking at the guy's stats through the years he's actually been pretty decent on a per minute basis - when he's been healthy. I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in at the vet minimum and have him there for a few minutes a game.

Bigs: Garnett, Perkins, Wallace, Scal?, Davis?, Swift?

If he can move his feet on defense, he'll be a huge obstacle in the middle. Offensively we don't really need him if we have House,Wallace and Daniels on the floor with him along with whomever we pick up as a backup point. I hope they pass on Davis because he's just a luxury at this point and they need to save their greenbacks for a backup point.

The way I look at it, we have 3 roster spots for each position (3x5=15), so even if we keep Scal and Baby, we're going to want one more big man. That guy, whoever he is, probably won't play much (barring injury), so it's not a bad place for a project big man.

I would have to see how Sam's defense is before endorsing that move.

He's been in the league a few years and really should not be considered a project any more. I know, I know, Perkins took 5 years to develop but it just seems the guy should have shown something by now, maybe like one big game or something? I also heard he was huffing and puffing in SL. That doesn't sound good either.

Swift or Mikki Moore folks - who'd you choose?

Swift has been hit by some injuries that slowed his development. He seems to project to about 10 rebs and a couple of blocks per 40 minutes when he's healthy, which isn't bad. Not that he'd be playing that much. To be honest, I can't remember ever seeing him play, but if Danny likes him I'm ok with him being the 15th man.

There's also Jane Swift -see a) and also a former governor of Mass. Jonathan Swift, the author of "Gulliver's Travels", who's probably dead but have not confirmed . . . Searching further - there is Harley "Skeeter" Swift, the "Sultan of Swish" and a retired ABA player and , but he's 63 years old now. then and now Stromile fits, but I don't think he's got half the tatoos of the Swift were talking about. . . . This Swift guy that is the subject of this article is . . . Robert Swift, whose noteriety thus far is, with his father being half Japanese (Okinawan), is that he's the first Asian as well as first Caucasian player to be drafted straight out of high school. We all know he was selected by Seattle with the 12th overall pick in the 2004 NBA draft ahead of our venerable Al Jefferson. Anyway, he apparently was road-blocked by center Nick Collison and the mid-season signing of Nenad Krstic by the OK Thunder, who subsequently became the starting center. What is promising is that Krstic also successfully completed rehab of what Swift is going through with a left knee ACL rupture. The Thunder also traded away Johan Petro, and so, in not extending a qualifying offer to Swift after his rookie contract expired this summer, are a bit thin at the 5-spot. But thanks to Danny Ainge's infatuation with the Asian-American, the Celtics are taking an extended look at him on their summer league team this year . . . More upside than POB and definitely could provide more immediately than Moore if healthy. I'm intrigued by his talent.. I remember seeing him early before the injuries in the high school all-star games so I understand why Danny likes him. He's a natural in the post with an array of moves. You just don't see many true 7fters these days that actually have a developed game early in their years. Athletically, he will surprise. I have no idea what kind of explosiveness he has left now, but I remember the nice dropstep moves and power dunks, an above average finisher. I also saw that he had a penchant for swatting shots. He really stood out among the bigs. Like I said it's all about what kind of mobility he has left with the knees. If he is good to go than there's no reason why we shouldn't find a spot for him on the roster. He could take his time and round himself into shape.

His post defense is worse than Big Al's rookie year. He also struggled to rebound. I too liked his potential a while ago, but I think it has gone the way of the buffalo (the buffalo tore their ACLs galloping over the prairies and were thus easy prey for the white settlers).

Who knows, maybe he can start to reach his potential. Down the road maybe he and Perk could make up quite a pair in the frontcourt. I think Stomile is getting too old to interest me at this point since we have a number of older players as it is. Of all the Swift's however, Taylor is by far the best looking. No contest. That girl is gorgeous.

I just noticed it and checked it out. Interesting I had no idea the freddy krueger look alike had some japanese heritage in him. I'm half japanese by way of my mother so you could see my intrigue. Most figure since I'm 6-3 220 and dark complected to be of samoan descent - I get that all the time. A good friend of mine who is a native islander swore I was too. Goes to show, you never know.
