Without doing much research on their cap, even if they let Ray go next year I don't think they will have enough under the cap to go after any of the big
FAs. Sooooo, does Ainge make a splash at the deadline hoping to suck in a team looking to get Lebron/Wade by trading Allen and (here it comes) 'his
expiring contract'? I don't see any of the bigger FA moving from their teams, or coming to Boston for that matter, so it my be in their best interest
to move Allen. I know it wouln't be popular, but Ainge is always looknig to the future and if he can get a top talent that is younger and better, will he
do it?

Doubtful. I think there's an understanding that this is the last go around for the Big Trio of Ray, KG and PP. If they trade Ray, there will be a big void
to fill in the SG position unless they think Marquis can step in immediately.
I wouldn't mind seeing Ray go especially considering his dreadful performances in the playoffs of late but unless they bring in a reliable shooter, I can't see it happening. |

If after playing the Lakers and Cavs a few times it's evident that this team isn't capable of winning it all this year, then I think Danny would look
hard at trading Ray. But I don't think that's what will happen. If they can stay healthy I think the Celtics will be as good as anyone and it
wouldn't make sense to shake things up when you have such a good shot a another title.
I think it's more likely that we'll move Scal and Tony (both expiring contracts) in a deadline deal for someone more useful. |
