Actually, I was quoting the Godfather - that was the famous "offer he couldn't refuse". The singer, who was modeled after Sinatra (who was said to have mob ties) was stuck in a bad contract with a record company. The company refused to let him out of the contract. The singer (whose name I can't remember in the movie) asked Michael's father (Vito Corleone, Brando's character) to help him. As Michael tells his gf/future wife (Diane Keaton) the story, she asks how his father convinced the record producer to let him out of the contract. He said "my father made him an offer that he couldn't refuse".

When she pressed him on exactly what that meant, he finally relented and said "my father put a release form in front of the producer and held a gun to his head. He assured him that either his signature or his brains would be on that contract."

That might not be an exact quote, but it's pretty close.
