As far as knucklecup goes, can we please let sleeping dogs lie - at least for another week?

I noticed the same thing about Yak. Bad matchup luck so far. I've no doubt he'll be there at the end though.

Kmartballa and I had a shoot-out last week, with MVBob's going first and USPF's going 3rd in total points for the week (Dukefan was 2nd). Playing 30 games helped.
But, re: MVBob's performance thus far, can you spell D O M I N A T I O N? I sense fear and trembling in tenaciousT household this week. . . . |

I'm sure tT has meds for the tremblings.
If he thought getting clobbered by a bed wetter was bad, he's in for a world of hurt this week. |

Interesting MVBob, that you mention your "performance" and "domination" in this fantasy thread.

Fortunately, you all are spared and we've kept this a "reality" thread.

LBJ took ugh's team to another level last week - be looking for King James to be named ECF POW with a landslide vote . . . . Dukefan may be able to survive Arenas going down for a few months, but he hit a brick wall in going against ugh last week.
Does anyone have enough dumb luck to still be undefeated this season? I looked, and it can be argued that I'm in a weak division with Kuberski and Snively checked out for the time being, and tT stricken with misfortune . . . and I have benefited from having the fewest points against. Some mighty good teams out there though - it should be an interesting season. |

Finally have a good week. What sucks is when a guy gets hurt and how long do you keep him.

Just cut him now, Ugh. Don't let him be an anchor on your team.
Finally a match up I can sink my teeth into this week as I go up against my old nemesis 32fan. I expect all out bloody war with nothing held back. "Cry Havoc and Let Slip the Dogs of War!" |

Yeah, I still wish we had an extra position for the IR

Re: Smack Central | ||

Well, the problem is these short term injuries like I had with Kyle Korver. He is good enough to keep, but the one to two weeks injuries really screws you up.

Re: Smack Central | ||

Yeah - the whole injuries thing needs to be worked out. The only way so far that I can think of is to shorten the active roster to 5 positions. If a league typically has a large starting rotation and a small bench then using everyone on your squad as active players each day really makes a difference. If you have a small starting line-up for each day then it limits the impact of injured players as for most days in the week where many teams are playing on the same night then you would have to bench a guy anyway. It still hurts to have an injured player as you might have to start a lesser quality player, but at least your opponent isn't getting 2-4 extra games then you from their healthy players...

Injuries are a part of the fantasy equation. If we didn't have to worry about them then everyone would have drafted guys like Kirenliko and Dalembert,notorious fantasy injured players. You can't circumvent it. We tried one year with an extra spot but that was too hard to police.
In this league it is important to minimize how many injured guys you carry though. You can live with one but two or three will hurt you in the long run because of the daily lineup changes. |

Re: reply | ||

I think the mistake we made was expanding to 14 teams. If we had kept it at 10 it would be easier to let an injured player go and pick up someone decent in his place. If we drop the inactive owners from next year's league (which we said we were going to do last year but didn't follow through on) there will be a larger pool of decent players to pick up as needed.
Having said that, I don't see the issue with keeping things the way the are. I am carrying Elton Brand all year in the perhaps small hope that he makes it back for the last two months. With only ten usable players, I'm not having any trouble filling my 6 daily spots for the most part. I don't think anyone is going to be able to play 6 players 7 days a week. No matter what number of roster spots or active players you set things at some people are always going to want one more. |

Good point JMost, cutting the dead wood should bring the league to the right size so that the league works perfectly...

Jughead - I see that Starbury earned you -2 Fantasy Points tonight. Aren't you going in the wrong direction with that team of yours?

Maybe the Robots and Jugheads can swap their two point point guards.

I'm 3-1 bitches. The night before that he racked it up and he's may late round back-up. Try and find a guy on the waiver wire who will give you a bigger performance. Simple fact is that once Isiah is gone Marbury will play his heart out and try to act like a leader for a few months and put up crazy good numbers. Maybe even in an attempt to get traded out of this NBA dumpster city. You'll see...

AK47 had a nice line of 20-11-11 with 9-10 FTs, 6 steals, 4 blks and a 3

Don't worry Bob, he'll get injured and miss 30 games (sorry, but that's for your jinxing of Stabury)...
